Xi is an autonomous free flying robot that lives inside commercial space stations. It patrols, verifies alarms in person, finds leaks, watches the air, recovers floating objects, and in time will print its own spare parts on the station's 3D printer.
Commercial stations will spend much of their lives uncrewed. The flight record from ISS and Mir shows what happens in the meantime. Every incident below is documented in public sources. None of them waited for a crew.

Follows airflow and ultrasound to the hissing crack, photographs it, reports position and leak rate to ground. In minutes, while the crew sleeps.
Flies to the sensor that cried and confirms with its own eyes and instruments: real fire or false alarm. First response within its authority.
Carries a multi gas nose through every module and builds a spatial map no fixed sensor network can see. A mobile second opinion against evacuations.
Spots the untracked object, matches its drift, captures it gently and returns it to stowage. Inventory stays true.
Detects a failing part, commands the station printer, installs the spare itself. The maintenance loop closes without a cargo flight.

Semantic understanding of the scene runs on the robot, with fast, simple reflexes underneath. Xi stays safe even when the clever layer fails, and useful even when ground contact drops.
Stations are built for human hands: handles, latches, switches, velcro. Xi operates human interfaces rather than demanding robot friendly ones.
Like an astronaut, Xi moves along handrails at near zero power and saves flight for crossings. Patrol endurance is measured in days, not minutes.
Xi's own body is printable on the station's printer and designed to be serviced by Xi. The robot is its own first customer.
Identical units dock into formations for heavy work and split into independent patrols. Three docked units form 三, the mark itself.
Development is fully ground based: every capability is proven on Earth before it is proposed for orbit. The log is honest by design.

Fabrication line running. The Tokyo ground lab prints and measures its first calibration parts; tolerances feed straight back into the CAD, which is written entirely as code.
